Sports & Activities at All Saints'
The All Saint’s Episcopal Day School curriculum includes education and guidance in health, physical fitness, sports and other activities. We believe every child’s learning experience should incorporate more than just knowledge and information about science, math, and language; because an awareness and understanding of the human body and its abilities to perform in athletics, music, and the arts is essential to growth and success in later years.
Almost forgotten by other schools, our Physical Education Curriculum starts with Kindergarten and lasts through the Eighth Grade. We teach children basic and advanced movements, and then use those same concepts and principles to develop motor skills. All Saint’s emphasizes the benefits of physical activity and proper nutrition, including social and personal responsibility.
Team sports, like baseball and basketball, provide our children with wholesome, positive attitudes about play with an emphasis on honesty, sharing, cooperation, and sportsmanship. With programs for boys and girls of all ages, All Saint’s Episcopal Day School teaches children how to be a good follower, a good leader, and a positive, contributing team member.
Music and the arts are in integral part of every student’s All Saint’s education. We take great pride in helping students in singing alone and with others, playing an instrument, and even composing in an environment that teaches how to read and notate music, and how to appreciate musical performances. Our art curriculum begins with an understanding of the essentials in expression, like line, shape, color, texture, space and value. Techniques in various media are introduced to students, along with an appreciation and understanding of art from other cultures, as part of a curriculum that is broad and diverse. Literature, drama, and other arts are also presented to our students, to give them the largest canvas possible on which to express their passions.
