Opportunities to Serve the Parish

Acolytes
Open to boys and girls, 11 years or older. Acolytes serve at the 10:00am Sunday Eucharist and special services. This is a great opportunity for young people to continue their religious and spiritual development. If interested, contact the Church Office at 602-279-5539.

Order of the Daughters of the King: All Saints’ Chapter
An order for Episcopal women dedicated to the extension of Christ’s kingdom and strengthening the spiritual life of their parish. The All Saints’ Chapter was installed May 24, 2000. Chapters may not raise money, only assist with prayer and service under the Rector’s direction. The Rev. Marian Fortner is chaplain and Janet Anderson, President. New members are welcome. The group meets the last Wednesday of each month in St. Barbara I and II, following the 10:00am Eucharist in the Chapel.

Altar Guild
As is the custom in the Episcopal Church, membership is by invitation of the Rector

Chalice Ministers, Lectors, Intercessors, and Vergers
These volunteers serve in the myriad of services at All Saints’. While some are called to be readers of the Word, others may be called to intercessory prayer, and yet others to the giving of the Sacraments. If you are interested in being a part of “the work of the people” please be in contact with each group’s Ministry Leader as listed in the About Us section for upcoming training sessions.

Our Hospitality Commission: A Welcoming Group
This is a group of people who volunteer to act as a welcoming committee for the various church services. You’ll see them on the Church Patio every weekend. Particular emphasis is directed toward welcoming newcomers to All Saints’ and providing information and visitor cards to help better acquaint them with the parish, but it also serves as an informational center for everyone. The most important function is simply to roll out the red carpet and offer a smile and a greeting to all who come to All Saints’.

This group acts as “Lay Ambassadors” of our parish by making sure all new members easily find the social groups, ministries, and facilities at All Saints’. The opportunities vary from helping a new member be introduced to a new organization, sitting with a newcomer at a service, following up with a handwritten note, or giving a tour of the campus. They also are involved with the Sunday morning hospitality with Coffee & Conversation.

Coffee & Conversation: Sunday Morning Fellowship
Lots of All Saints’ small groups host coffee hour, but individuals, families and friends frequently join in on the ‘off weeks’ so we can maintain the great fellowship hour with good coffee and tasty treats as we have become accustomed. The Church pays for the coffee and snacks, you provide the legwork and smiles. It takes 6 people each Sunday to make it work. If you are interested in helping, please call Ken and Carmen Luk, our Coffee Ambassador Chairs at 602-795-2580 or email kenhluk@cox.net.

Ushers
A group of dedicated men and women who serve at all the regular services (Saturday, 5:00pm; Sunday: 8:00am, 10:00am and 12:00 noon) and special services. New ushers (women and men) are always welcome and needed. Qualifications: a ready smile and a willing, helping hand. Pick the service of your preference at which to serve.

Sunday Chariot Drivers is an excellent service opportunity for any reliable parishioner with a good driving record. Volunteer drivers are used to pick up and return passengers on a regular Sunday schedule. Drivers will be called upon every two months to drive.
