Habitat for Humanity
The All Saints’ Habitat for Humanity ministry will be helping build a home this Fall for the Elham Family, who immigrated from Kabul, Afghanistan to the U.S. in 2000. The home site is in Peoria near Cactus and 83rd Ave and is jointly sponsored by the Episcopal Habitat Coalition and the Presbyterian Coalition.
All Saints’ has three build dates scheduled:
October 4, 2008 - Frame Walls*
December 6, 2008 - Doors/trim
January 17, 2008 - Punch list/dedication
* Several Episcopal churches are participating in the framing with a limit of 5 people per church. If you want to participate in the framing, let us know and we will sort out who the All Saints’ Team of 5 will be when we get closer to the October 4 framing date. This is a great way to meet
volunteers from the other Coalition churches.
The Episcopal Habitat Coalition is organizing its fifth trip to St. Tammany Parish in Louisiana to help in the rebuilding effort for areas ravaged by Hurricane Katrina. Trip dates are October 26 - November 1, 2008. The cost is $275/person for administration fees, volunteer housing, 2 meals/day, and mini-van rental for local transportation. This is a great opportunity to put your faith into action by serving those in need. Contact James Peck (602-318-0633 or jgpeck@gmail.com) if you are interested in participating.
